Hey everyone. Finally we have met to the very ending of our tasks. We are required to make a blog and compile all our reviews, journal and video in it. Then we submit the link of the blog to our Lax instructor, Ms Elizabeth Rachel. We were enjoying while doing this tasks and happy to get to know each other in a different way. So long and Goodbye.!

Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief Movie Review

Hello everyone.! Last week we have discussed about the first movie that we chose which is The Cat in The Hat. This week we went for discussing on the movie Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief. Here are the reviews on the movie based on the guide questions.

DURING THE MOVIE

1. Who are the 5 most important character in the film? List out the names of actors playing them.

Zeus : Sean Bean

2. What is the story about?

Percy Jackson is a twelve-year-old boy with dyslexia and ADHD, who has been expelled from every school he has ever attended. When his class takes a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, his pre-algebra teacher Mrs. Dodds transforms into a monster and attacks him. Percy's Latin teacher Mr. Brunner throws Percy a magic sword named Anaklusmos or the English translation, Riptide, and sends Mrs. Dodds to Tartarus. When Percy come out, he finds that nobody remembers Mrs. Dodds and Mr. Brunner acts the same.

When Percy and his mother, Sally, go to Montauk beach in New York, his best-friend Grover Underwood comes to tell them to leave immediately. They drive away in a horrible storm, and a Minotaur takes Sally in a blinding flash of light. In anger, Percy kills the Minotaur and takes one of its horns. He wakes up three days later, healed by nectar and ambrosia, at Camp Half-Blood. Grover reveals himself to be a satyr, and Mr. Brunner reveals himself to be Chiron the centaur. As nobody knows who Percy's godly father is, he is placed in the Hermes (the god of messengers, travelers, and thieves) cabin. After several water-related incidents, a trident mark appears above Percy's head. This is revealed to be his father, Poseidon.

The Oracle tells Percy to find the stolen master lightning bolt of Zeus, because Zeus thinks that Percy is to blame for stealing the lightning bolt. After defeating several monsters including Mr. Dodds, Medusa, and a chimera they find Hades, who actually took Sally. Apparently, his helm of darkness (his symbol of power) seems to have been stolen too. Hades also blames Percy for stealing his helm and wants to kill Percy and his mother and release all the dead back into the real world. They use magical pearls, a gift from a Myriad the sea messenger, to save themselves from Hades and discover that Ares actually has the bolt. Percy challenges Ares to a duel and wins, to his own surprise. Lord Hades realizes that Percy did not steal his helm of darkness, and returns Sally safely.

After the bolt is given back to Zeus, Percy's friend, Luke Castellan, is revealed to be the lightning thief and the number one servant of the Lord of the Titans, Kronos the father of Olympians and son Gaea and Ouranos , the earth and sky. Luke tries to kill Percy by calling on a pit scorpion, but luckily Percy manages to kill it. Unfortunately, Luke had gotten away. Percy decides to spend the school year with Sally.

Teenagers

AFTER THE MOVIE

1. Do you like this movie? Why or why not?
Yes. Because the movie is full of thriller and action part in it. Furthermore, we like this movie because it can enhance our imagination and also keep us in a suspense mood so that the next part of the movie will be unexpected in order to find or solve something by using our creativity and think outside the box.

2. What rating would you give for this movie?
4.5 out of 5

3. What spoilers would you give for this movie?
The spoilers would be when we knows that Percy is actually the son of God. It is not proper to have the son of God among us.

4. What did you learn from this movie?
We learn that we cannot judge a person by it's outer appearance. In this movie even though Percy is a dyslexic who knows he has another speciality of being a God's son and able to sit underwater for a long time.
We also learn that we must not get angry easily and be patience, never to believe a rumour so easy before we knew the truth. This can cause so much mess and destruction if we are not being patient. We also learnt that we must believe in our own potential. Being different doesn't mean we don't have anything to be proud of. Maybe our talent is just in another chapter and part of life.

The Cat in The Hat Movie Review

3.                  We tried to answer the wide question and decide whether the answer is correct or not without written up.

4.                  So, everyone must speak and try to answer the wide question. We tried to built up our communication skill among the group members.

Hello everybody.! Last week we have watched the movie The Cat in The Hat so now we are going to make a review based on the guide questions provided. 

DURING THE MOVIE

1. Who are the 5 most important characters in the film? List out the names of the actors playing them.

The Cat : Mike Myres

Lawrence Quinn : Alec Baldwin

Joan Walden : Kelly Preston

Sarah Walden : Dakota Fanning

Conrad Walden : Spencer Breslin

2. What is the story about?

The story is about two siblings, Conrad and his sister Sarah who has a single parent which is their mother Joan Walden who works for Hank Humberfloob. Joan's boss is a neat freak, so he asked Joan to prepare her house in perfect clean for the office party that will be held there. Conrad is a naughty kid who always make a huge mess to their house. As the party will be held at their house, Joan asked Conrad to behave just this once or she will get fired. But Conrad sort of refused and they had a little misunderstanding. Joan asked their neighbour, Mrs. Kwan to babysit them while she's going to work. Mrs. Kwan do nothing but sleep all the way during the babysit. 

Then come The Cat out of nowhere leading the kids to make up a huge mess to their house but right before that they have to sign a contract. Then the three of them The Cat, Conrad and Sarah make up a huge mess around the house. Cat brought Thing 1 and Thing 2 that said to help them clean up the house, but all they do is the opposite, which add up more mess. The Things are taken out of a crate, which is sort of a portal that connect Cat's world to the real world. Conrad who is a naughty boy stole the crab padlock that should be locking the crate, and now the crate is making their house as fantasy as Cat's world. 

The crab padlock then being carried away by their chihuahua, making them chasing him around the town. Their neighbour, Quinn who has heart for Joan and promise to bring Conrad to military school for his bad behaviour saw the kids messing around the town and asked Joan to come home and see everything, so that he can marry her while Conrad is sent to military school. 

Once Conrad and Sarah come back home, everything is too late as their house has been taken over by the "mother of all mess" that come out of the crate. Conrad regret and tell that it was all his fault that he took the padlock, while Sarah is blaming herself for not stopping his brother. They are mad with Cat who said everything is going to be fine but obviously it's not. 

Cat then come back and show them on the contract that there is nothing he can do if the siblings are doing bad things. But if they regret and wanted to make everything right again, The Cat can help them get out of the mess and make things normal again. So the work together with the help of The Things.

When Joan gets back home, she see everything is fine and thinks that Quinn is making up stories about her children. She refused to listen to Quinn and proud with Conrad and Sarah who are being very nice while she's gone.

3. What group of people would like to watch this film?

Children.

AFTER THE MOVIE

1. Do you like the movie?

Yes. because the story line really interesting that gives us unexpected, suspense feeling. It also fantastic on how everything could be so colourful and magical. It also funny and hilarious, giving us a lot of imagination.

4 out of 5

3. What spoilers would ruin this movie if you told your readers about it?

The character of Quinn Lawrence is too hypocrite and annoying.

4. What did you learn from this movie?

We learn that we must admit our mistake and learn from it so it will never repeated again. It also teaches us to listen to our parents because they knows best for us. It also tells us to be positive, as every problem has it way out and we just have to find it and never give up. We also learned to love each other, either as a family or as friends because at the end of the day, we will never know who will be there if we having trouble in our life. 

5. What title would you give for your review?

Hilarious but giving lesson.

First meeting

Hello guys. We held a group meeting at Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad (PSAS). We discussed about what movie should we watch for the movie review. At the end of the discussion, we decided to watch The Cat in The Hat and Percy Jackson : The Lightning Thief.
